The chairman of South Sudan’s Civil Society Alliance (SSCSA) Deng Athuai survived a shooting by an unknown gunman on Friday in Juba.

Radio Tamazuj learnt that Athuai is now receiving medical treatment after surviving a gunshot wound.

Athuai had been nominated to participate in the Addis Ababa peace talks representing the civil society coalition.
