Citizens at extension site of UN Malakal PoC report water shortage

Several internally displaced persons (IDPs) who were relocated to a new extension site of the UN base in Malakal town report a shortage of drinking water provided by the United Nations.

One of the displaced persons told Radio Tamazuj that about 500 internally displaced persons (IDPs) inside the extension site were experiencing the shortage of drinking water.

He further said they sometimes spend the day without drinking water. He added SPLA forces loyal to the government are still controlling the town. The IDP pointed out that the SPLA forces have been moving near the UN base.

A source in the POC also complained that many students are stranded in the UN camp without schooling. Those stranded students should be transported to the capital Juba to continue their education, according to the displaced.
