Child killed by military vehicle, three soldiers shot dead in Kadugli

A child was killed and three Sudanese soldiers were also killed in two separate incidents in Kadugli town of South Kordofan on Wednesday.

A source told Radio Tamazuj that a child died after being knocked by a military vehicle at Hajar El Mak area on Wednesday.

Meanwhile three SAF soldiers were shot dead in a random shootout among newly deployed forces that were touring Kadugli town.

Nearly 3,000 government forces in 60 buses and 250 vehicles were seen on Wednesday, whereas another force in 200 vehicles arrived in the town on Thursday, according to the same source.

The incident caused fear among local residents.

Another source said the Kadulgi Military Hospital has received over 30 soldiers wounded in clashes with SPLA-North rebels at Alatmour and Balanja areas. Some injured troops were airlifted to the Military Hospital in Khartoum.

The locals said also that airplanes have been hovering over the town for the last three days.

Kadugli residents expressed concern at ‘mounting tensions’ between the Sudanese Armed Forces and Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North in the state.
