Aweil police announce Christmas security plan

Police authorities in South Sudan’s Northern Bahr el Ghazal State have announced a special security plan to maintain law and order in the capital Aweil during the Christmas holiday.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Wednesday, State Police Commissioner Mariing Deng AKuei said the security plan was distributed by the police headquarters in Juba.

He pointed out that they divided Aweil town into five zones so police could carry maintain order during the holiday.

Separately, Gen. Mariing further said looting and theft crimes at night in Aweil town represent about 90% of total crime in the town.

The senior police officer stressed they will exert efforts to reduce thefts and looting in the town.
