Abyei hospital runs out of malaria drugs

The Abyei Hospital in the disputed area of Abyei between Sudan and South Sudan has run out of malaria drugs, medical assistant Nyankur told Radio Tamazuj.

Nyankur said the hospital is facing “terrible” conditions and a severe shortage of medicines.

She further said most of the hospital’s medical supplies come from the South Sudanese capital Juba, but do not meet the needs of the increasing number of malaria patients.

The medical assistant called on the health organizations and relevant authorities to provide medical supplies to the hospital so that can be able to render good medical treatments to the patients.

Abyei natives have complained about the difficulties of getting medicines due to the lack of medical supplies at the hospital.
