9 questioned about murder of National Security officer

Nine people have been questioned in connection with the murder of National Security officer Arop Kiir in Mundri, the UN radio service reported today.

The senior officer serving with the NSS in Western Equatoria State was attacked and killed by a group of unknown gunmen in Mundri West County last month.

Mundri west acting commissioner, John Keliopa, said that a committee that was established to investigate the incident is expected to hand over its findings as soon as investigations are complete.

“The committee which was formed by the county is seeking everything it could to find the culprits and so far there is no concrete evidence has been achieved with nine of witnesses and there is no result. There is another committee was sent from the state as the governor of the state formed it and since December 31 the team arrived and is starting their work as well.”
