At least two traders were killed and another wounded in an attack on a commercial vehicle in South Sudan’s Bieh State last Monday, a local opposition official said.

John Daniel, the rebel-appointed minister of information in Bieh State told Radio Tamazuj on Friday that a commercial vehicle coming from the area of Lankien on its way to Wecjial was attacked by gunmen, killing two traders and wounding another.

He identified the two traders killed as Majok Lul and Gatmai. The official pointed out one woman was reported missing following the attack.

Daniel accused the government of involvement in the incident.

Government officials in the area could not immediately be reached for comment.
