A two-day peace conference between pastoralists from Terekeka State and farmers from Amadi State concluded Thursday with calls for peaceful co-existence.

 Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Amadi State lawmaker, Joy Aja Clement said the conference was organized to discuss the security situation and peaceful co-existence between the two neighboring states.

The conference, Aja said, resolved that all cattle keepers who come to Amadi state in search of pastures and water should return to Terekeka State during the rainy season to allow people of Amadi state plant crops.

“We are in peace and since we do not want differences between the cattle keepers and farmers, we agreed that they should return to their areas during the coming autumn,” she stressed.

Native administration leaders, youth and women representatives from Terekeka and Amadi states attended the forum in Tali County of Terekeka state.
