A man was killed in an ambush by unknown assailants in Bor West County of South Sudan’s Jonglei State on Sunday evening, an official has said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Monday, Atong Kuol Manyang Juuk, the state information minister said the deceased was ambushed and killed while cutting trees in the outskirts of Baidit town in Bor West County on Sunday.

Atong identified the victim as Agau Maluk Kuol.

“The man was killed on the spot and his gun taken,” she added.

Atong assured the citizens that the situation is calm stating that this was an isolated case.
