The government's Emergency Committee says around 17,000 were affected by the events in Heglig and is developing a plan to deliver medical assistance.

The Sudanese health minister said the government has drawn a plan for six months to provide health workers, blood banks, ambulances along with a supply of emergency medicines to address the situation in South Kordofan.
