The governor of Gok State, Madhang Majok Meen on Thursday issued an administrative order removing the Minister of Information and Communication Malek Machut Padai from his position.

No new replacement was made and no immediate explanation was given for the removal of Malek less than six months since the predecessor was removed in the same manner.

Malek replaced John Madol Panther who was the first information minister after the area was upgraded from being a county to state.

Gok State is one of the administrative units which came into existence in fulfilment of the October 2, 2015, controversial presidential establishment order.
