Four people killed along Tambura-CAR road

At least four people were killed in separate attacks along the road linking South Sudan’s Tambura State to the Central African Republic (CAR) on Saturday last week, an official said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, the state deputy governor, James Adu Votoki said three traders were ambushed while returning from the Central African Republic, while a man was killed in a separate incident.

He said the attacks took place at a place called Kpakpadupo.

Adu pointed out that the state government sent condolences to the deceased’s families and vowed to work with CAR authorities to improve the security situation.

He, however, urged the traders to put their safety first before money.

In March this year, state authorities closed the road between Tambura and CAR due to insecurity but it was reopened in April.
