Boma communities conclude reconciliation conference

Officials in South Sudan’s Boma State over the weekend concluded a reconciliation conference among the Jieh, Murle and Kachipo communities.

The conference resolved that the three neighbouring communities should live peacefully and end cattle rustling amongst them.

Boma state information minister Diko Konyi told Radio Tamazuj on Sunday that the peace conference was held under the auspices of the South Sudan Council of Churches.

Konyi added that the communities agreed to solve cattle rustling and committed to work together to ensure that it does not reoccur.

The minister further said the communities called on the state administration to provide basic services to the communities saying it will enhance peace coexistence in the region.

The conference which started on Monday last week, ended on Friday.
