At least four civilians were killed and several others wounded after an attack by unknown assailants on a farm in the area of Jalhak in Northern Upper Nile State on Tuesday, a local official said.

Northern Upper Nile’s Acting Minister of Information Sarah Alija told Radio Tamazuj that the four civilians were attacked and killed on a farm at Manapiok area in Jalhak County.

She pointed out that the police could not arrest the perpetrators, while promising that the state government would put security plans in place to protect citizens in the area.

“Those who committed the crime remain unknown until now. The victims were on Manapiok forms when they came under attack by unknown attackers,” she said.

The minister did not identify the names of those who died in the attack.
